Service Updates

We’ll be doing a quick update on Tuesday, Feb 28, 2006 about 7:00am CST. This will solve a couple problems we’ve had with invitation requests and enrolling feeds into the system. No action is required, just letting you know.

We’re getting very excited to start weaving blogs into our publisher properties. So far our API is very well received within the publisher developer community and making it very easy to instantiate, customize and maintain BlogBurst content services. More on that as our first publisher nears go-live.

International Blogs

We welcome our international blogger friends. We are now accepting international blogs into the network under the following guidelines:

1) Your blog content must be in English to be accepted at this time.
2) Your blog should be topically relevant to US publisher audiences since that is where we are rolling out BlogBurst right now.

As we branch out into international markets there will be room for non-English and country specific blogging too so please bear with us. Note that we only accept US zip codes for now. If you have an international postal code, please use 00000 as your zip code when you request an invitation.

Verifying your blog

As you add your blog into the network, one of the steps you will take will require that you verify, or claim your blogs as your own. We require this step to ensure that blogs submitted to the network are actually submitted by their owner.

When you reach this step during the set up process, you will see two or three options, depending on the blogging platform you use:

  2. You can also give us a heads up by request an invitation to the network. Just go to www.blogburst.com and type your blog’s web address (URL) into the big green box labeled “Get Started” We will check things out and potentially send you an email invitation to join.

When will my blog get “bursted”?

As you know, we’ve got a roster of top-tier publishers lined up to present BlogBurst content on their sites. We are currently in technical trials with several of them and expect to go live serving content in the spring. While we’re moving fast with major newspapers, we also expect to see specialty portals and other vertically oriented sites serving BlogBurst content as well.

Welcome to BlogBurst!

Welcome to the BlogBurst network! We’re very glad to have you on board and thanks for redeeming the fancy invitation code we gave you. Don’t you feel special? Check back here for continuing updates on the service.
