Eric Roach is part of the editorial team at BlogBurst. He has written and spoken extensively about beer and music, and has bands, breweries, and broken domains scattered across the state of Texas. He loves xml, long walks, and your blog.
What has the editorial process been like since starting a month ago?
I have been having a blast. I’m actually the lead recruiter (and the new guy) so I research blogs on some harder-to-find topic areas based on what the publishers are requesting. Every day it’s like traveling the world. Just yesterday, I was stuck in traffic in Atlanta, traipsing through the high-fashion district of Sydney, checking out the latest gizmos in Tokyo, and deep in the Baltimore music scene. I am amazed by how good the blogs are and have always admired the sheer honesty of bloggers.
What feedback are you getting from bloggers?
Most of the ones I have contacted are very excited (as am I) about the potential of this service. They definitely love the idea of having their words and viewpoints broadcast on a larger stage, and immediately realize the benefits of even occasional exposure in this realm. And, even though there is no revenue stream during the beta period, a potential brand new source of revenue for writing is obviously very exciting (and long overdue).
Why do you blog? What is your blog about?
I blog to communicate with my family and friends. I am usually running around so frantically that open ended communication done on my schedule removed me from lots of personal guilt — no more plaintive emails from my parents wondering how or what I was doing. I also set up blogs for my father and friends where I have managed to capture some truly great stories, which otherwise would have been lost (or at least butchered by my bad memory). I have plans for a brand new blog with a bit more of a public focus, but it is top secret (it’s gonna be huge!)
Other than yourself, what blogger do you most admire?
The guy at Post Secret - tremendous idea, compelling, well executed, and cathartic. I would do ANYTHING to get him into our network.
Which is your favorite: Booberry, Count Chocola or Frankenberry?
As long as it is wrapped in a tortilla with hot sauce, it doesn’t really matter.
Once Eric gets a blogger in his sights they don’t stand a chance
He recruits them through a combination of ancient Japanese negotiation technique and Jedi mind tricks.

I’m on that same diet
More eyeballs never hurt. You have managed to catch the right temptation for a blogger
Wish you all the luck.
