I am very honored that the folks at Blogburst featured my blog, Beyond Katrina, as an honorable mention on this post.

Documenting the disaster has been such an amazing journey for me, and one that I hope has helped raise awareness for the many complex issues surrounding Katrina recovery. This is so important to survivors in the impacted areas - many of whom are personal friends - and who are still struggling to pick up the pieces of their lives one year later. What Katrina surivors want most is simply not to be forgotten.

On another note, It’s great to be part of the Blogburst network. My experience has only been positive so far, the exposure has been wonderful, and the concept is truly a win for all involved.

    Many Thanks!

Margaret, great blog - it’s good that people don’t forget, and what lessons can be learnt. From a travel perspective, I’m hoping that travel companies have learnt and provided all vacationers thinking about visiting the Caribbean / USA during the hurricane season - from my quick survery today that doesn’t appear to the the case for everyone

    Darren -

Back at you! You have an awesome blog as well - I LOVE your banner, bright travel colors, great content, and the site is very functional and easy to navigate. Excellent post on travel during hurricane season. I’ve referenced at mmy blog, along with a link back to your site. Any time you post content that is pertinent to hurricanes and/or disasters please let me know. In light of the recent airline terrorist threat in the UK this could be of interest to travelers and a good niche for you. On another note, you do know about Curaco being the best kept secret for travel during hurricane season? Now if you haven’t already done one that would be a good post!

    Best of Luck,
