A picture says a thousand words, and adding a personal profile image for your blog is a great way to set it apart from other blogs in our BlogBurst syndication network. Your personal avatar is a way to make your blog stand out to publishers and their readers.
What makes a great avatar? Your avatar should be something that’s uniquely you. Don’t already have something already on hand? Here are some ideas to get you started:
- Using a portion of your blog’s top banner will help readers connect your avatar to your blog.
- A great photo of yourself will put a face with your words.
- Try to use a square image instead of rectangular or oblong images, which may be too small to read.
Here’s an example of how avatars show up on publishers’ Web sites:

So what do you need to do once you’ve got your avatar?
- Save your image in gif, png, or jpeg format
- Log into the BlogBurst Workbench
- Go to My Account
- Click on “edit” on the My Profile page
- Upload your image
You’re done! We’ll take care of the resizing for you.
If you don’t want to include a personal avatar, no worries. We still have our BlogBurst Member avatar that will display with your blog.
