In a big nod to the Information Age and citizen media, TIME Magazine announced its Person of the Year as ‘You.’ The bloggers, the social networkers, the gamers and the online journalists: this is your year.
Congratulations and here’s to the future!
In anticipation of the post-holiday hangover (the financial one), BlogBurst editors are searching for relevant content such as credit card debt, personal finance, money management and cost saving tips. If you’ve got posts related to the impact of the holidays on your wallet, please shoot us an email at blogburst-editors@pluck.com. And be sure to leave suggestions in the comments!
Hey all!
Eric Roach, your friendly blog recruiter here. On Monday I had the distinct pleasure of hosting the first-ever non-Austin blogger meetup in Washington, DC. I was in town to attend the Healthcare Blogging Summit (which was quite enlightening - great bloggers talking about all things blog), after which I went down to the brickskeller (holder of the guinness record for most varieties of beer!)
Matt, John and Doug came down from Hotpads.com. They are a very 2.0 business that helps connect you with great places to live, and their blog is chock full of good advice on looking for a home, as well as chronicling the ups and downs of 2.0 startup land.
David from Fight HIV in DC was there, and we got to talk about the current crisis, and the ups and downs of being an activist and a blogger.
And, although she didn’t have a beer, SeeJaneMom came by. She’s a relatively new blogger, but is already having a fair amount of luck, good traffic, and a lot of fun. She also has the kidalog, which is a blog about shopping for kids.
Overall it was a lot fun and we look forward to bringing a meetup to your town soon.
The 2006 Weblog Award Finalists were announced this week. This is the world’s largest blog competition, featuring 45 categories. You can vote for your favorite blog until December 15.
Congratulations to our BlogBurst network bloggers who made it to the finals!
