Virginia Tech Tragedy

Following the tragic shootings Monday at Virginia Tech University, the BlogBurst editorial team put together a newswire of blog posts which focused on the event. The wire will be updated through this week. Our publishers which picked up the posts were Reuters, the Austin-American Statesman and the Internet Broadcast System, which owns several broadcasting sites across the country. We’d like to sincerely thank everyone who shared their views on this terrible day.

I just want to express my deepest sympathy to the families of the victims of the Virginia Tech shootings.
While I did not know any of the victims I know they are in the minds of everyone right now.

“Does Virginia Tech massacre make you want stricter gun control laws?”

I came across this “real time” poll website called BuzzDash.com and they currently have the subject, and are asking: “Does Virginia Tech massacre make you want stricter gun control laws?”

As of 6:25.48 PM-PDT today. This BuzzDash.com is a “up to the second sampling of close to 350 online users polled said – No!”

    347 votes since 4/17
Yes, current laws are too lax– 44%
No, protection is our right – 55%

This site BuzzDash says it’s “a community-driven website that provides a real-time dashboard showing continuously updated snapshots of popular opinion and people can gauge the pulse of the nation on the Virginia Tech tragedy and whether it should affect current gun control laws.”

I say, whether “yes” or “no” America, PLEASE make your opinion known!

This was truly a barbaric crime. It really touched my heart to see all those people come together. I’ve done a lot of reading into this case. The New York Times had the Korean responses. Some are worried this will turn into a racial thing. I included a link to my video response on racism & the Virginia tech massacre. Please take a few moments to watch it.

    Sincerely,
    Joshua
