Looks like Wordpress has upgraded their platform again - 2.3.3 is available. As this is a “point release” (2.3.2 to 2.3.3) then this release is meant to fix bugs, and security issues in particular.
Wordpress has this to say about it:
WordPress 2.3.3 is an urgent security release. If you have registration enabled a flaw was found in the XML-RPC implementation such that a specially crafted request would allow a user to edit posts of other users on that blog. In addition to fixing this security flaw, 2.3.3 fixes a few minor bugs.
You can find more information about the upgrade at the Wordpress download site for your convenience.
If you’re curious as to the benefits of upgrading (or the pitfalls of not upgrading) you can find that at the Blogger Resource Center.
That was pretty interesting. Thanks for sharing!

As a new blogger, I can say it took me quite a while to develop my own voice. Why? Because I wasn’t exactly certian who I wanted that voice to be.
I didn’t want to make enemies right out of the gate, but I also didn’t want to sound like everyone else. I blog about celebrity politics and celebrity blogs are a dime a dozen. It has been difficult striking a comfortable balance with who I am and who I think readers will want to read. I’m not a sell-out, but I also don’t want to send potential readers packing. Again, this is a very fine line and difficult to navigate for new bloggers.
It’s been about six months and I’m finally starting to feel like I’m coming into my own voice, which is nice. New bloggers should take heart and not give up. In fact, my blog has a whole section on “Bloggers Anonymous” that sort of chronicles my own development.
I knew I was on the right track when I realized I hadn’t posted a “Bloggers Anonymous” article during the whole month of February. Hallelujah.
Thanks for a great article. It really is important to develop an original voice.
Thanks good information.
I had WordPress 2.3 and just upgraded to the latest and greatest- v2.5 - last night. Have you tried it and, if so, what do you think?
I’m not sure I’ll keep it. It’s very web 2.0 (a trend which annoys me because many blogs have a certain “sameness” about them. Some day, we’ll look back on web 2.0 like we do avocado refrigerators, a relic from the past.) and I guess I’m more of a “hands-on” person. I find 2.5 a little more difficult to navigate than the more traditional versions of WordPress, and I _like_ the ability to tinker and tweak to my heart’s content. The program, while fast, does have a noticeably larger footprint as well.
Not quite sold on 2.5, may revert back to 2.3. How do others feel about it?
