Recently, our BlogBurst editors interviewed BlogBurst member, Austin blogger, mother and haiku evangelist Kari Anne Roy. You can find her blog here: Haiku of the Day
Q - How did you decide to create Haiku of the Day after working in advertising and marketing? How do you think your writing sets you apart from some other popular ‘mommy blogs’?
A - When I started the blog I had just made the transition from bringing my son to work with me full-time to staying at home and freelancing. I naively thought that once I quit my job I’d have time to do the elusive Other Things you think people who don’t work outside the home do all day. Eric Roach is part of the editorial team at BlogBurst. He has written and spoken extensively about beer and music, and has bands, breweries, and broken domains scattered across the state of Texas. He loves xml, long walks, and your blog.

I am amazed by how good the blogs are and have always admired the sheer honesty of bloggers.

What has the editorial process been like since starting a month ago?
When we first started recruiting people for BlogBurst, we had definite blog topics in mind based on our publisher’s needs. As more blog requests for invites have poured in, we’ve been pretty overwhelmed - in a good way - with high-quality blogs that stand out from the crowd. As the network opens up, we’ll be developing closer relationships with individual bloggers to help them get noticed and published. It’s been a real learning experience for the editors and the bloggers.

Recently, the BlogBurst team spoke with renowned blogger and BlogHer co-founder Jory Des Jardins about her thoughts on the blogging revolution and the social impact and significance of blogs and female bloggers, specifically:
What was your mission in launching BlogHer?
BlogHer was conceived in what I consider to be a petri dish of change for women online. There were a number of instigating factors: those controversial remarks by Harvard President Larry Summers about women’s natural competencies not being in the sciences, a Newsweek article that raised the question of whether the Blogosphere was being dominated by techy white
